Beatriz Gerenstein Succeeds in China And Exhibits in Miami

Latin American artist, Beatriz Gerenstein' exhibits selected works in Miami after being well-received by art critics and spectators in China, thanks to the unique style of sculptures that connects with universal audiences

MIAMI, FL, November 19, 2011 /Museums PR News/ -- Latin American artist Beatriz Gerenstein was invited to the 2010 Shanghai Art Fair, her first time art exhibition in Asia. Following this successful journey, spectators and art critics keep being mesmerized with her sculptures. Since then, she was invited to show her sculptures four more times in Shanghai and Guangzhou, all in less than two years.

One of Gerenstein's most impressive sculptures is "Harmony of the People." The 23-feet monumental bronze piece was commissioned by Wanjia Plaza in Shanghai. The monument is a 10,000 lb. colorful tree, a public art piece already installed at one of the most visited plazas in Pudong, the high end district of Shanghai. A prominent publication in China, TopFloor magazine, reviewed the sculpture describing it as one of the best monuments in Shanghai.

Gerenstein says that "it's moving to see how in despite of cultural differences, people get connected with my artwork and feels identified because each one of my pieces gives a universal message full of values, feelings and spirituality, shared by humanity. Asian spectators understand the meaning of my sculptures thanks to its simplicity and tenderness. It allows me to open a communication path between both cultures."

Beatriz and Her Artwork
Gerenstein achieves the connection with audiences intuitively and with a unique mastery, "my goal is always to create original pieces that speak to the viewer and moves the spectator. My sculptures communicate that life has a meaning, they allow the viewer to understand that in spite of the apparent chaos around us, we are surrounded by light and sense, everything has a divine order," explains Gerenstein.

Her pieces depict her intense journey through life as well as the solidity of her convictions of her inner world, each one of her sculptures speak of her spiritual message and the essence of the creative act.  Gerenstein's work emanates sensibility, an original sense of esthetics and femininity, emphasized by the use of unique patinas with colors which gives them a spectacular magnificence.

Gerenstein began her distinguished art career through painting, trained alongside recognized artists in different countries. Her innate talent and unique style drive her to create freely and experiment beyond any limitations. She was later captivated by the art of sculpting. Ever since she started experimenting with sculpting, her dedication and discipline to this medium became almost exclusive. "Sculpting allows me to express my emotions by combining form, volume and color in one piece."
