Art Gallery Director Is Displayed In The Ranks Of Stanford Who's Who
Dick Bett has been accepted among the prestigious ranks of Stanford Who's Who as a result of his extraordinary effort in the Arts.
NORTH HOBART, TAS, AUSTRALIA, November 21, 2010 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Dick Bett has been accepted among the prestigious ranks of Stanford Who's Who as a result of his extraordinary effort in the Arts. As Director of Bett Gallery Hobart since 1989, Mr. Bett has routinely exhibited the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be considered among the best.
Established in 1986, Bett Gallery Hobart is a fine art gallery which features first rate contemporary art in all media from local, regional, national and international artists. The gallery represents several of Australia's leading artists and is a national authority on Aboriginal art. It is one of the few Australian galleries with a strong Trans-Tasman connection, and certainly the only art gallery in Australia overseen by a third generation gallerist.
Prior to running Bett Gallery Hobart, Dick was the Co-Director of the Elva Bett Gallery in Wellington, New Zealand with his mother who had founded the gallery in the 1960's. He also spent five years as the Director the Govett-Brewster Gallery in the North Island's New Plymouth.
Dick is responsible for managing all major aspects of the business as well as overseeing the daily operations. Mr. Bett possesses exceptional expertise in art history, curating, valuations, art critique and strategic planning. He has over 30 years of experience running some of the most successful commercial galleries in Australia and New Zealand. Over the years, Mr. Bett has displayed several examples of community service as well as museum involvement.
