The Young Murillo 'May Enchant Art Fans In Bilbao'

A collection of 50 works by Murillo will be open to the public in Bilbao.

MANCHESTER, ENGLAND, December 09, 2009 /Museums PR News/ -- Bilbao is home to some fantastic artistic displays that are bound to enthral enthusiasts who venture into the city for the day.

If they are keen to visit some specialist exhibitions during their stay at hotels in Bilbao then there is one that may catch their eye.

The city's Museum of Fine Arts is playing host to a show of 50 works by Murillo, who was born in 1617 and died in 1682.

Entitled The Young Murillo and showing pieces created during his youth, the art is considered to have been produced in what was a crucial period in the artist's career, as he was concerned with Tenebrism and Naturalism.

Important pieces from this period have been preserved by the Fine Arts museum in Bilbao and Seville and it may prove to be a real treat for those who have an interest in art.

Some of the works include Saint Peter in Tears and San Lesmes, while San Francisco and San Jeronimo can be seen in Seville.

The event will be on at the Museum of Fine Arts until January 17th, so visitor still have some time to get themselves down there.

Tickets cost EUR5.50 (GBP4.94) or EUR4 for concessions.

Commenting on The Young Murillo, Jessica Reading, head of marketing for LateRooms, said: "We strongly urge people thinking of going to The Young Murillo and who need hoteles en Bilbao to book early to avoid disappointment."

After visiting the exhibition of The Young Murillo, visitors may like to take a look around the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao.
